Taco

Senior Dog

Taco is an elderly gentleman who waited for years at the shelter, hoping that his previous family would come looking for him to take him back. Over the years that he spent at the shelter, he didn’t make any effort to win hearts or make friends.

Taco just wanted to be left alone. Very few people could handle him. He didn’t want to take baths. He didn’t want belly rubs.

Years went by, and his face had turned gray. He was even grumpier than before. Who would take home this guy, who was doing his best to not get adopted?

Thankfully, the hoomans of BFFS accepted the challenge. And a challenge it has been! Sometimes he would ask for head scritches, at times he would lunge and bite. Most times, he would be sleeping soundly like he wouldn’t hurt a fly.

And it’s during those times that we would smile, knowing that he feels safe again, and he can ask for pets when he wants to (and tell us when he’s had enough!)

Rescue Story

Taco had a family. He loved his humans deeply, and they said they loved him too.

But one day, a fire destroyed their home and all their belongings, and Taco found himself at the shelter.

The volunteers tried to contact his family, hoping they would come for him. They knew where Taco was, but they chose not to take him back.
