Special Needs Cat
No, he’s not taking a selfie in this pic. 😅 Slinky is a young kitten with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, also known as the wobbly cat syndrome. It is a neurological disorder that causes sudden jerky movements, uncoordinated motion and loss of balance. This is why he always looks funny in his photos!Â
Because of the severerity of his condition, he needs assistance when eating and especially when drinking. This is so he doesn’t inhale water or accidentally drown in his bowl. He also needs close supervision when let out of his padded pen to make sure that he doesn’t injure himself.Â
Despite his condition, he is a very sweet cat who loves to explore and play with shiny things. We are hoping to give him the best quality of life that we can manage here at the sanctuary.Â

Slinky needs a lot of stimulation and enrichment so cat toys and treats would be most welcome. He would also like a nice, sturdy bowl that won’t get toppled over because of how he eats. Can you help us keep him happy and safe?Â

Actors Carla Abellana and Tom Rodriguez rescued this poor fella and fostered him for a little while so he can get treated. It was then discovered that he suffered from Cerebellar Hypoplasia and needed to be in the care of someone who can give him special attention. And that’s how he came to be transferred from the PAWS shelter to BFFS.
