Senior + Special Needs Dog
Unlike most of our residents who were former residents at the PAWS shelter, Rusi was rescued by BFFS in Pampanga and never made it to PAWS. He was originally being fostered here in order to prepare him for adoption, but we realized that he’s not really a good candidate for that.
You see, Rusi is completely blind and a bit old. Realistically, the prospect of him getting adopted is very low even though he’s a very friendly and gentle dog. He’s better off as a retiree here at BFFS where he is already accustomed to his surroundings and his people. We wish to improve his living conditions by creating a safe space where he can roam freely without injuring himself, and live out the rest of his days in comfort.

Other than his impaired vision, Rusi doesn’t appear to have other health issues. However, we want to provide him with healthy food and supplements that will help him age gracefully.

Rescue Story
Rusi appeared to have been abandoned on the side of a busy road in Pampanga. It was raining and he was drenched and shivering. If he had attempted to cross the street, he would have been badly injured or killed. Good thing he stayed in one spot and was easily rescued.
