Special Needs Dog
Liwayway is one of the most fearful dogs we have ever encountered. Her fear keeps her from behaving like a normal dog. She would even refrain from eating or going potty when there’s someone around. Putting her on a leash is always a challenge, let alone trying to befriend her or give her pets.
We’re hoping that things will change for her here at the sanctuary — even if just a little bit. We want her to know that no one will ever hurt or abandon her, and that she is loved. We hope that she learns from her furry companions that hoomans aren’t all that bad.
The important thing is that she can now experience freedom and constant human companionship. Even if takes years, we will keep trying to win her trust.

Liwayway doesn’t need much aside from food and a roof over her head, but we want to spoil her with nice things in an attempt to gain her trust and affection. It would be nice to have an abundance of high quality treats, especially chicken meat or liver, which she really loves. Please help us provide for Liwayway.
When you become Liwayway's BFF, you will receive monthly newsletters with updates on her well-being. You may also request for a 5-minute Zoom call so you can see how she's doing.
Liwayway, along with her siblings, was rescued from a big fire that destroyed many homes in Anonas Sta. Mesa, Quezon City. She sustained minor injuries that were promptly treated by the PAWS vet. They may have been owned pets, but they were clearly left to fend for themselves especially after the fire.
