Special Needs Cat
Alyanna was never meant to be a BFFS retiree. After an injury sustained from a hit and run, she could still walk but with some difficulty due to a paralyzed hind leg. Eventually, that leg had to be amputated, but the remaining hind leg is permanently misaligned.
She was supposed to be re-admitted to the shelter after healing in foster care, but the special needs ward at The Philippine Animal Welfare Society is always full! Not many people want a cat who is missing a leg 🙁
We found no reason to return Alyanna to the shelter, and so here she is. Surprisingly, she still loves to climb and she’s very fast! She’s not very friendly with other cats, but she’s super affectionate with her hoomans.

Alyanna has always been on the skinny side, and she could use a boost of appetite. She also has a recurring runny nose which tells us that her immune system is not that great. She needs supplements to help her get stronger and gain some weight. Would you like to be her BFF?
When you become Alyanna's BFF, you will receive monthly newsletters with updates on her well-being. You may also request for a 5-minute Zoom call so you can see how she's doing.
When someone reported an injured cat in the middle of Ayala Ave. on Edsa, we went back and forth 3 times with no luck finding her. We feared that she was gone. Fortunately, we asked a street sweeper who said that the cat had been moved to the sidewalk. We’re glad we didn’t give up the search right away!
