Habagat was rescued by The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).\u00a0He has come to retire at our sanctuary for senior and special needs animals.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Habagat’s previous owner had been dead for several days before the neighbors noticed a smell coming from the house. They realized that a dog that was left alone and starving, so after the owner’s remains were retrieved, PAWS rescuers came to the site to get Habagat and admit him to the shelter.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Growing old without getting socialized caused him to be deeply mistrustful of humans. Because of that, he spent more than 2 years in quarantine at the PAWS shelter, never graduating to the dog run or becoming eligible for adoption. While he was capable of showing and receiving affection to a VERY select few, he was unpredictable and can be aggressive if mishandled.<\/p>

Although we are not qualified dog trainers or behavior experts, we believed that Habagat can live out the rest of his days in a sanctuary setting where he has more freedom and more opportunities to interact with humans. True enough, he has shown remarkable progress since he came to live us more than a month ago. He’s turning out to be quite a sweet boy!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
